After an incursion into Spanish with the single “Tristes Trópicos”, singer-songwriter Roberto Andrés Lantadilla, in art Kiwi666, with the new single “Commuters” recleans English put aside after the EP “Wrong Nature”. Outtake of the debut record, the song closes the circle of “Y”. the album released a year ago for Findrobato.
The laconic and sweet bitter atmosphere of the song is complemented by a retro sound resulting from the collaboration with Davide Chiari (already Tin Woodman and Lancasters). The song was in fact entirely recorded on tape, with the aim of obtaining a sound as faithful as possible to the 1970s.
Regarding the song Roberto declares: “Commuters was perhaps the last song in English I wrote before dedicating myself to Italian of the songs featured in Y. I’ve always imagined this song as an accompanying music to the credits of a film at the Before Sunrise by Richard Linklater, of which it marries a romance from the bitter aftertaste”.
