Alek Hidell is a Sardinian producer and musician based in Milan. In his music, within a few tracks, the abstract hip hop gives way to pieces in a straight box or to psychedelic digressions on kraut rhythms. It is able to play with prog sounds from the 1970s and library music à la Umiliani and Piccioni but also to contaminate its sound with noise and ambient references. I can always look just like myself. It debuted in 2021 on the Trovarobato label with RAVOT, concept album based on a fact that really happened. He produces his tracks using samplers, tape echo and analog synths. He collaborated with DIE of IOSONOUNCANE, recording synth and sampling, and made remix for Any Other, Matilde Davoli, IOSONOUNCANE, Indianizer, Neeva. After RAVOT he made the EP “R” and the soundtrack for the documentary “Domus de Janas” by Belgian director Myriam Raccoh. On November 03, 2023, "Life is A Game OST", soundtrack of the film of the same name, entirely composed, played and sung by Alek Hidell. With the new piece of Life is A Game OST Alek Hidell is confirmed one of the most personal and original electronic composers and producers of the Italian scene, able to create compositions that have the breath of instrumental music and the thematic simplicity of the song form, of the real pop songs without words.
